Medium has specifically stated that this is a one-time payment, but part of me is hoping otherwise. I think the main motivation for this is “intermittent reward” – mice scramble harder in that wheel when they sometimes do and sometimes don’t get rewarded. They get a lot of bang for their buck this way.

As for NewsBreak, once the minimum payouts stop, I don’t think they’ll be luring many of us away.
